Boys will be Boys
This past week was the first official week of my internship with Praying Pelican Missions and I loved it! We lived at Haiti Christian Orphanage, which is a boys orphanage for guys ages 10 to 23. I never thought I could have so much fun! I got to work with a group of people from all across the United States including Georga, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, North Carolina and Maryland.
We got to have a week of fun that began with working at another orphanage, Life Saver. Our team was able to do school ministry and love on the children there. Then, we came back and painted the basement of HCO.
The boys are an absolute joy to be around. They love to sing and dance and they like to practice their English wih us. All the whole, they correct our Creole pronunciations. One day, the filled the pool in the back of the house and went swimming. Several members of our team were thrown in as well.
We had a time of worship every night and shared how God was working in our lives this week. There is no doubt that the boys of HCO ministered to us just as much as we ministered to them.
Please be in prayer for these boys! They have so many needs and very few resources. Pray for their continued health and that God would continue to lift their spirits even in the face of severe challenges.
Tomorrow, I go back to Cote Plage to continue to work with the people of Carrefour. Please pray for safe travels for our team and cool weather!

This is a great update! I love thinking about the boys throwing staffers and volunteers in the pool! Prayers for you at Cote Plage, and if you see Wilda, Stephens, or Bernie, tell them I said hello! Love you lots...so proud of you.
